<p class="MsoNormal">let them approach, then let them speak;</p>
<p class="MsoNormal"><span style="mso-spacerun: yes"> </span>let us together draw near for judgement.</p>

<p class="MsoNormal">The coastlands have seen and are afraid,</p>
<p class="MsoNormal"><span style="mso-spacerun: yes"> </span>the ends of the earth tremble;</p>
<p class="MsoNormal"><span style="mso-spacerun: yes"> </span>they have drawn near and come.</p>
<p class="MsoNormal">Each one helps the other,</p>
<p class="MsoNormal"><span style="mso-spacerun: yes"> </span>saying to one another, ‘Take courage!’</p>
<p class="MsoNormal">The artisan encourages the goldsmith,</p>
<p class="MsoNormal"><span style="mso-spacerun: yes"> </span>and the one who smooths with the hammer encourages the one who strikes the anvil,</p>
<p class="MsoNormal">saying of the soldering, ‘It is good’;</p>
<p class="MsoNormal"><span style="mso-spacerun: yes"> </span>and they fasten it with nails so that it cannot be moved.</p>
<p class="MsoNormal">But you, Israel, my servant,</p>

<p class="MsoNormal">Ephesians 2:1-10</p>
<p class="MsoNormal"> <o:p></o:p></p>
<p class="MsoNormal">You were dead through the trespasses and sins in which you once lived, following the course of this world, following the ruler of the power of the air, the spirit that is now at work among those who are disobedient. All of us once lived among them in the passions of our flesh, following the desires of flesh and senses, and we were by nature children of wrath, like everyone else. But God, who is rich in mercy, out of the great love with which he loved us even when we were dead through our trespasses, made us alive together with Christ*—by grace you have been saved— and raised us up with him and seated us with him in the heavenly places in Christ Jesus, so that in the ages to come he might show the immeasurable riches of his grace in kindness towards us in Christ Jesus. For by grace you have been saved through faith, and this is not your own doing; it is the gift of God— not the result of works, so that no one may boast. For we are what he has made us, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand to be our way of life.</p>

<p class="MsoNormal">As soon as they* left the synagogue, they entered the house of Simon and Andrew, with James and John. Now Simon’s mother-in-law was in bed with a fever, and they told him about her at once. He came and took her by the hand and lifted her up. Then the fever left her, and she began to serve them.</p>
<p class="MsoNormal"> <o:p></o:p></p>
<p class="MsoNormal"><span style="mso-spacerun: yes"> </span>That evening, at sunset, they brought to him all who were sick or possessed with demons. And the whole city was gathered around the door. And he cured many who were sick with various diseases, and cast out many demons; and he would not permit the demons to speak, because they knew him.</p>
<p class="MsoNormal"><span style="mso-spacerun: yes"> </span>In the morning, while it was still very dark, he got up and went out to a deserted place, and there he prayed. And Simon and his companions hunted for him. When they found him, they said to him, ‘Everyone is searching for you.’ He answered, ‘Let us go on to the neighbouring towns, so that I may proclaim the message there also; for that is what I came out to do.’ And he went throughout Galilee, proclaiming the message in their synagogues and casting out demons.</p>
<p class="MsoNormal"><span style="mso-spacerun: yes"> </span>A leper* came to him begging him, and kneeling* he said to him, ‘If you choose, you can make me clean.’ Moved with pity,* Jesus* stretched out his hand and touched him, and said to him, ‘I do choose. Be made clean!’ Immediately the leprosy* left him, and he was made clean. After sternly warning him he sent him away at once, saying to him, ‘See that you say nothing to anyone; but go, show yourself to the priest, and offer for your cleansing what Moses commanded, as a testimony to them.’ But he went out and began to proclaim it freely, and to spread the word, so that Jesus* could no longer go into a town openly, but stayed out in the country; and people came to him from every quarter.</p>
