<p class="MsoNormal"> <o:p></o:p></p>
<p class="MsoNormal">Pleasant speech multiplies friends,</p>
<p class="MsoNormal"><span style="mso-spacerun: yes">   </span>and a gracious tongue multiplies courtesies.</p>
<p class="MsoNormal">Let those who are friendly with you be many,</p>
<p class="MsoNormal"><span style="mso-spacerun: yes">   </span>but let your advisers be one in a thousand.</p>
<p class="MsoNormal">When you gain friends, gain them through testing,</p>
<p class="MsoNormal"><span style="mso-spacerun: yes">   </span>and do not trust them hastily.</p>
<p class="MsoNormal">For there are friends who are such when it suits them,</p>
<p class="MsoNormal"><span style="mso-spacerun: yes">   </span>but they will not stand by you in time of trouble.</p>
<p class="MsoNormal">And there are friends who change into enemies,</p>
<p class="MsoNormal"><span style="mso-spacerun: yes">   </span>and tell of the quarrel to your disgrace.</p>
<p class="MsoNormal">And there are friends who sit at your table,</p>
<p class="MsoNormal"><span style="mso-spacerun: yes">   </span>but they will not stand by you in time of trouble.</p>
<p class="MsoNormal">When you are prosperous, they become your second self,</p>
<p class="MsoNormal"><span style="mso-spacerun: yes">   </span>and lord it over your servants;</p>
<p class="MsoNormal">but if you are brought low, they turn against you,</p>
<p class="MsoNormal"><span style="mso-spacerun: yes">   </span>and hide themselves from you.</p>
<p class="MsoNormal">Keep away from your enemies,</p>
<p class="MsoNormal"><span style="mso-spacerun: yes">   </span>and be on guard with your friends.</p>

<p class="MsoNormal"> <o:p></o:p></p>
<p class="MsoNormal">Faithful friends are a sturdy shelter:</p>
<p class="MsoNormal"><span style="mso-spacerun: yes">   </span>whoever finds one has found a treasure.</p>
<p class="MsoNormal">Faithful friends are beyond price;</p>
<p class="MsoNormal"><span style="mso-spacerun: yes">   </span>no amount can balance their worth.</p>
<p class="MsoNormal">Faithful friends are life-saving medicine;</p>
<p class="MsoNormal"><span style="mso-spacerun: yes">   </span>and those who fear the Lord will find them.</p>
<p class="MsoNormal">Those who fear the Lord direct their friendship aright,</p>
<p class="MsoNormal"><span style="mso-spacerun: yes">   </span>for as they are, so are their neighbours also.<o:p></o:p></p>

<p class="MsoNormal">Revelation 7:9-17</p>
<p class="MsoNormal"> <o:p></o:p></p>
<p class="MsoNormal">After this I looked, and there was a great multitude that no one could count, from every nation, from all tribes and peoples and languages, standing before the throne and before the Lamb, robed in white, with palm branches in their hands. They cried out in a loud voice, saying,</p>
<p class="MsoNormal">‘Salvation belongs to our God who is seated on the throne, and to the Lamb!’</p>
<p class="MsoNormal">And all the angels stood around the throne and around the elders and the four living creatures, and they fell on their faces before the throne and worshipped God, singing,</p>
<p class="MsoNormal">‘Amen! Blessing and glory and wisdom</p>
<p class="MsoNormal">and thanksgiving and honour</p>
<p class="MsoNormal">and power and might</p>
<p class="MsoNormal">be to our God for ever and ever! Amen.’</p>

<p class="MsoNormal"><span style="mso-spacerun: yes"> </span>Then one of the elders addressed me, saying, ‘Who are these, robed in white, and where have they come from?’ I said to him, ‘Sir, you are the one that knows.’ Then he said to me, ‘These are they who have come out of the great ordeal; they have washed their robes and made them white in the blood of the Lamb.</p>
<p class="MsoNormal">For this reason they are before the throne of God,</p>
<p class="MsoNormal"><span style="mso-spacerun: yes">   </span>and worship him day and night within his temple,</p>
<p class="MsoNormal"><span style="mso-spacerun: yes">   </span>and the one who is seated on the throne will shelter them.</p>
<p class="MsoNormal">They will hunger no more, and thirst no more;</p>
<p class="MsoNormal"><span style="mso-spacerun: yes">   </span>the sun will not strike them,</p>
<p class="MsoNormal"><span style="mso-spacerun: yes">   </span>nor any scorching heat;</p>
<p class="MsoNormal">for the Lamb at the centre of the throne will be their shepherd,</p>
<p class="MsoNormal"><span style="mso-spacerun: yes">   </span>and he will guide them to springs of the water of life,</p>
<p class="MsoNormal">and God will wipe away every tear from their eyes.’</p>

<p class="MsoNormal">After this the Lord appointed seventy* others and sent them on ahead of him in pairs to every town and place where he himself intended to go. He said to them, ‘The harvest is plentiful, but the labourers are few; therefore ask the Lord of the harvest to send out labourers into his harvest. Go on your way. See, I am sending you out like lambs into the midst of wolves. Carry no purse, no bag, no sandals; and greet no one on the road. Whatever house you enter, first say, “Peace to this house!” And if anyone is there who shares in peace, your peace will rest on that person; but if not, it will return to you. Remain in the same house, eating and drinking whatever they provide, for the labourer deserves to be paid. Do not move about from house to house. Whenever you enter a town and its people welcome you, eat what is set before you; cure the sick who are there, and say to them, “The kingdom of God has come near to you.”* But whenever you enter a town and they do not welcome you, go out into its streets and say, “Even the dust of your town that clings to our feet, we wipe off in protest against you. Yet know this: the kingdom of God has come near.”* I tell you, on that day it will be more tolerable for Sodom than for that town.</p>
<p class="MsoNormal"><span style="mso-spacerun: yes"> </span>‘Woe to you, Chorazin! Woe to you, Bethsaida! For if the deeds of power done in you had been done in Tyre and Sidon, they would have repented long ago, sitting in sackcloth and ashes. But at the judgement it will be more tolerable for Tyre and Sidon than for you. And you, Capernaum,</p>
<p class="MsoNormal">will you be exalted to heaven?</p>
